Juvederm Volbella with Lidocaine is a cross-linked hyaluronic acid filler with lidocaine, made in France by Allergan Aesthetics, an AbbVie company. It is a clear, colourless gel in pre-filled syringes, two 1 mL syringes per box.
The maker's leaflet gives two indications: the lips and perioral rhytids, and the infraorbital hollows under the eyes. Both are for adults over 21.
A doctor trained in facial anatomy and vasculature chooses the area, amount and technique for the lips and the under-eye hollows.
It must not be used, says the maker's leaflet, in anyone with a history of allergy to lidocaine or amide-type substances, a history of anaphylaxis or multiple severe allergies, or an allergy to gram-positive bacterial protein that may be present in trace amounts.
For pregnant or breastfeeding women and people under 22 the maker says safety is not established. Immunosuppressive treatment calls for caution, and people taking aspirin, NSAIDs, warfarin or other substances that prolong bleeding may bruise or bleed more.
It must never be injected into a blood vessel. The maker describes rare but serious events from filler injected into facial vessels, such as abnormal vision or blindness, stroke and skin tissue death. Swelling, pain and firmness are the common reactions at the injection site.
The correct name on the box and in the maker's documents is Volbella. Vobella is a spelling found in some sources and searches. This product is Allergan's Juvederm Volbella with Lidocaine.
That depends on the area you have in mind and on your skin. Volbella is indicated for the lips and the under-eye hollows, and the injecting doctor decides whether it suits you.
In France, as the Volbella leaflet states.
Room temperature, up to 25 °C, without freezing. Check the expiry date on the label before use, and do not use a syringe whose gel is not clear.
The price depends on the model and the quantity.
